Since the inception of sites like Ancestry.com MyHeritage.com, my research knowledge increased by leaps and bounds and I began helping other people in their search for their own ancestors. I finally decided to earn my certification in 2021, after years of working on family trees.
I have a fascination with history and a reverence and deep respect for all things relating to historical and ancestral documents. For me, it's a passion, not a job. It's an art, not just a career. It's something I love to do; bringing those ancient stories back to life.
Beyond helping other people build their family histories, I've also spent quite some time working as an independent expert for Ancestry.com right up until they stopped offering that service. My time there taught me that there are a lot of people who need just a little help, rather than wanting an entire family tree built for them. Some people already have a vast family history but they just can't figure out how to put it all into a digital format that will last forever. Some people are great at researching, but have some trouble with finding the right type of programs to use. Some need help with using those genealogical programs. There are others who are great researchers, but can't afford the expensive genealogy memberships. Then, there are others who just don't have the time to research their family tree on their own.
That's where I come in. I am different from most genealogists, in that I don't charge an arm and a leg for my services. I understand some genealogists begin quoting their prices with packages listed at $2000 and more. I know many people are struggling in our society today and would love the help, but cannot afford those types of prices. I offer my services at deeply discounted rates because once again, for me, this is a passion, not a career. I can assist you in any way that you prefer, including online chat, phone calls, video calls or email. I can even teach you how to do it yourself, without spending a fortune!
I also find it unnecessary to be a member of any genealogical society. I've been that route before and I found that those organizations simply trade a small bit of mostly unseen advertising in exchange for large fees. As long as their members pay their annual dues, they can be listed in that organization's directory. There is usually no verification of members' credentials, whatsoever. In turn, all it meant was that I had to charge my clientele more for my services. You wont find me bragging about being a member of this society or that organization. My work speaks for itself and I would rather give my clients affordable rates. My pledge is between myself and each of my clients, that I strive for perfection on each and every job I do.
It is also important to note that I am ready to help, regardless of what you need help with. If you've hit a brick wall in your research, I can help you break through that barrier in order to continue your research.
